Outdoor Projects FAQs
How far apart should fence posts be?
8 ft is standard for wood fences. Use 6 ft spacing in high-wind areas or for taller 8 ft fences to keep the rails strong.
How many deck boards do I need?
A 12×12 deck with 5.5 in boards, 1/8 in gaps and 12 ft boards needs about 27 boards with a 10% waste allowance. The Deck Board Calculator adjusts for any size.
